    • Pick-up takes place between 8:00 and 8:30. Please be ready at your pick-up location at 8:00. Due to traffic restrictions in downtown Reykjavík, direct pick-up from some hotels may not be possible. We will confirm your pick-up location by email before the tour.

    Safety & Comfort

    For the Vatnshellir Lava Cave exploration, all guests are provided with helmets and flashlights to ensure a secure journey through the dark, uneven terrain.

    To prepare for your tour, dress warmly—the cave’s temperature stays just above freezing year-round, and gloves are recommended. Wear appropriate footwear such as hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers; for your safety, high heels, flat-bottom shoes, and flip-flops are not allowed. While the tour is relatively easy, participants must have the physical ability to navigate uneven surfaces and stairs.
